Chocolate Cravings: what are they telling us?

chocolate.png

like a bit of chocolate like the best of us … 2 squares of dark chocolate is great BUT it doesn’t really help with those chocolate cravings when all you want to do is stuff your mouth full as quickly as possible of that melting chocci yumminess.

All I am saying is that thank God Starbars are not usually stocked in Aldi!!

Chocolate cravings are usually an indication that our bodies need some extra magnesium.

Magnesium is vital for lots of things from your nerves, your bones to your immune system. It helps keep our hearts pumping, regulates our blood pressure, is great a regulating our blood sugar levels…the list goes on, it is involved in over 300 functions in the body … Magnesium is great stuff!

Dark chocolate is packed full of magnesium (Galaxy and dairy milk not so much) BUT there are other ways to add magnesium to your life.

Epsom salts baths. A long soak in a warm bath filled with Epsom salts will get the magnesium into your body with the added bonus of relaxing those muscles … Perfect if you struggle with sleep as it will help you unwind before bed.

Eat more vegetables especially those dark leafy greens and include bananas and avocados. These are all good sources of magnesium and should be included in your diet regularly.

Mix them up over your week.

Snack on nuts and seeds, again these little beauties contain magnesium as well as good fats and protein. Helping us feel fuller for longer.
