Has hair loss at menopause left you feeling worried, embarrassed and lacking in confidence?

You are not alone - Over 50% of women will see changes to their crowning glories at menopause BUT surprisingly it is one of the symptoms that you can be least prepared for and have the biggest impact on how you feel about yourself.

In a panic seeing all that hair in your plughole?

Knowing what is normal when it comes to hair loss and understanding your hair loss pattern means that you can take action and give your hair the care it needs.

Firstly you need to know what you are dealing with and what sort of hair loss you have. Time to act all detective and discover what is going on.

There are three main types of hair loss:

💇‍♀️ Along your hairline or your parting. This is often genetic.

Think about the members of your family. Does your mum or any of her family have thinning hair? Does your dad have male pattern baldness? Did you have PCOS before menopause? Are your testosterone levels high?

Time to test your testosterone levels.

💇‍♀️ Patchy areas of hair loss. This is often an autoimmune condition where your body is attacking your hair follicles.

Time to discover what is causing your immune system to attack your body.

💇‍♀️ All over your head and especially noticeable when brushing or washing your hair. Some level of this is normal BUT times of stress can cause your body to put a halt to non-essential processes to protect key functions in the body and make hair loss more noticeable. Stress related hair loss is usually reversible once you get your stress under control.

Time to reduce your stress levels and work on supporting your adrenals.
