Turns out your mum was right! “Eat your Greens”! Here’s why

Greens support the production of an AMAZING enzyme that supports your liver to function properly and detoxify - getting rid of all the rubbish from our bodies safely. Think those hormones that are past their best that can hang around giving us menopause symptoms.

The greens I am talking about is a family called brassicas.

This group of veggies include - cabbage, cauli (I know it’s NOT green but in the same family), Brussel Sprouts, kale, mustard greens, turnip, bok choy, to name a few. So there is something there for everyone!!

Include these greens in your diet every day.

Increase the amount you eat slowly.

Add too many greens Too quickly…... everyone’s going to know about it

If you are taking medication certain foods can interact with the absorption and uptake of your medication. Brassicas can potentially increase how quickly the liver processes certain medications meaning that the effectiveness may be altered, and you could possibly have side effects.

Always read the leaflets that accompany your medication. If in doubt, speak to your prescribing health practitioner.

If you are seeing any changes in the effectiveness of your medication look to see if you have made any dietary changes that could be causing this.
